Snowed In

Last month we got hit with two major snow storms. Now I know some of you are laughing because really it was not that much snow, however for us "okies" it was so much, schools were closed for two weeks....yes I said TWO WEEKS! The first snow storm that came was actually classified as a blizzard. For some reason Daniel thought he would go to work. Why I don't know, I think it's because he recently switched jobs. Well, he didn't get far because our gates were stuck shut from all the snow, but being the good neighbor that he is, he spent about 45 minutes shoveling, so the gates would stay open. He decided maybe he would just stay home! For me all that snow meant two weeks stuck in the house with three rambunctious little boys! One who LOVES the snow, one who HATES the snow, and one that I would not let go out in the snow. I know I'm a bad mom for not letting Mr. Eli out in snow apocalypse of 2011, but have you seen toddlers all bundled up. They can barley walk and they sure as heck can't move their little arms. It just seems cruel, and it takes forever to get them all bundled up. Besides, I really don't like the snow either! I like to look from inside my warm house! However, I did get out one day to take some pictures of the boys and our friend's little girls! There was lots of sledding (for Ethan and Daddy), snowball fights (Ethan and Daddy), and snow ice cream (Owen did participate in the eating of the snow ice cream, but that's all)! Owie got out one day, and one day only, so good thing I got some pictures when I did! Eli, mommy is sorry that you don't have any pictures in our record breaking snowstorm, but next time it snows I promise I will let you play in it!

Okay, so you see happy Owie and happy Emma...

well... Owen is sitting next to me while I am looking through pictures and he says "Mommy! Stop! see that's when Emma threw that snowball at me, and then that's when the snow got down my jacket and Jaime got me the scarf because I was crying because I was cold" (what a memory! I told you he doesn't like the snow! Look at his face below!) I told him "I'm sorry Owen, but Emma looks so darn cute throwing that snowball at you!"(I love this picture of her,she is having soooo much fun!) And no, I don't really feel sorry for him because do you know how many things have been thrown at poor little Emma over the years by Owen?! Besides, when you play in the snow you get snowballs thrown at you! Emma wasn't even trying to hit Owen with the snowball anyway, he walked into her line of fire!

When you don't have enough sleds in Oklahoma you use the rubber mat that goes in the back of your car!

I can't decide if I like this one in black and white or color, so I just put both of them!

I'm blogging again!

I am SUPER behind on posts! I am not going to call these posts sneak peeks, because all of my clients have seen their photos. I am posting a few of my favorite pictures from my fall sessions, because I have been asked where my photography went! Well, the answer is the holidays were just completely overwhelming this year (which will be explained in a later post) and I just couldn't find the time to sit down and do it. Believe it or not, it takes a substantial amount of time to write a blog post when you add pictures, at least it does for me. I am sure other people have a more efficient way, but I have not figured it out yet! However, I have learned to make collages, which I am super excited about! Here(this post and the one after shows the collages! I am not perfect at it yet, but I will keep practicing)is the first of many posts, so keep scrolling down because there are lots of new posts! I stayed busy this fall and hope to keep the photography up, so any business is much appreciated! Also, my website is in the works. I will post the link soon, and I will be doing a sign up sheet for spring family pictures as soon as I get t-ball and baseball schedules!

So, here is the V Family. The lighting was perfect that day and we found a perfect location with lots of color! Clint and Melody...thank you for letting me take your pictures. We love you guys so much and love spending time with you and the kids. I am glad we live close so our kids will be able to grow up together. Can't wait to see you again!

The K Family

Now these are some brave grandparents! They asked me to take pictures with all their grand kids in December. I thought it was going to be CRAZY with 5 kids (that are all pretty young). I was shocked because I took several hundred pictures and I was done with the shoot in 40 minutes, and we got a ton of great pics! Thank you Penny and Steve it was truly a pleasure to take pictures of you and your grand kids....what a great idea!

Little Miss A

Have I mentioned I LOVE taking pictures of little girls. I think it's because I have all boys, and let's just face it, they don't get to wear hats with flowers or bright pink! I had so much fun with Little Miss A! She was "working" the camera!

The E Family

Having grandparents that own land out in the country really pays off sometimes! I took these pictures back in October. This is Daniel's sister and her family. I absolutely love the location....I just wish it was a little closer so I could use it more often!

Isn't she the cutest little girl?!

Baby M

This was my very first newborn session. Let me tell you, taking newborn pictures is not as easy as it seems. It was a very lengthy session, but it was worth it! This session was a gift to our cousin, and I love that God has given me this talent, so that I can share it with others. Thank you J and C for letting me take pictures of your beautiful baby girl!

The H Kids

A young girl contacted me because her and her brother wanted to give their mom pictures for Chirstmas. We met up one very cold December day to get the job done. What a great idea Bailey! I hope your mom loved her gift, and I really enjoyed taking your pictures!
